MamaMooD

MamaMooD is a psychological support portal for expectant mothers, developed under the TUBITAK 2209-A University Research Program at Saglik Bilimleri Universitesi (Health Sciences University). Research shows that approximately 20% of expectant mothers experience depressive symptoms during pregnancy. MamaMooD addresses this by delivering expert-curated video content,prepared by specialist obstetricians and psychologists including Prof. Dr. Kazim Emre Karasahin and Uzm. Psikiyatrist Dr. Emel Koyuncu Kutuk,that mothers can access from the comfort of their homes throughout every stage of pregnancy and beyond. The platform hosts 41 videos totaling over 100 minutes of expert content, organized across 8 categories: 1st Trimester (5 videos covering yoga, nutrition, symptoms, exercise, and FAQ), 2nd Trimester (4 videos), Birth Preparation (5 videos on birth plans, hospital bag, breathing, and positions), Nutrition (1 video), Health (6 videos on mental health, sleep, skin care, meditation, and weight management), 3rd Trimester (11 videos), Postpartum (3 videos on recovery, breastfeeding, and exercise), and Baby Care (6 videos on newborn care, bathing, massage, sleep, and dressing). A key technical feature is the sequential progress system: users must complete each video before proceeding to the next, with server-side verification ensuring at least 75% of each video is actually watched. Watch progress is persisted per user so they can resume exactly where they left off. Built with Flask and SQLite for zero-infrastructure deployment, the application requires only Python 3.10+ to run,the database auto-creates on first launch with seeded sample data. The admin panel provides user management, per-user progress statistics, and total watch time analytics. The frontend uses Playfair Display and Nunito typography via Google Fonts, with a responsive design ensuring accessibility across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. The project is supervised by faculty from Saglik Bilimleri Universitesi and Ankara Universitesi.
